Large trucks are seen daily on Oklahoma highways. These big rigs can be challenging to drive for even the most experienced truck drivers, particularly when faced with traffic and other hazardous road conditions. Large trucks can be harder to stop when traveling at higher speeds, which may contribute to serious accidents. Sadly, two lives were lost in a recent crash that involved multiple tractor-trailers.
Accident details
The multi-vehicle crash occurred on a recent afternoon on Interstate 35 near Davis. Seven total vehicles were involved and five of those vehicles were tractor-trailers. Traffic was heavy at the time of the crash and while six of the vehicles in the accident were stopped, the seventh vehicle, a Volvo semitrailer was not able to stop in time, crashing into the other vehicles.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered that a small car involved in the crash had two victims pinned inside. Sadly, both were killed in the accident. While no charges have been filed, further investigations into the crash may show that driver negligence was a contributing factor. This could lead the authorities to file charges against the driver they believe to be at fault.
Car accidents can be traumatic
Losing a loved one in a motor vehicle accident can leave long-lasting trauma for the loved ones left behind. When that accident could have been prevented and was caused by driver negligence, the family may feel many emotions. They may understandably want to seek justice through a civil lawsuit, which can provide monetary compensation to help with financial recovery. Oklahoma families who find themselves in such a tragic situation can seek advice from an experienced personal injury attorney to see what legal options they have.
