Baseus, an electronics company, has announced its recall of more than 130,000 of its wireless charging power banks due to fire hazards.
The company has received 171 incident reports regarding its power banks. There have been 132 reports of bulging or swelling batteries. 39 reports of fires have been recorded. The defective power banks also caused 13 burn injuries and about $20,000 in property damage.
The device models for the recalled power banks are available on the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website. Baseus encourages consumers who have affected products to contact them for a refund. They also requested that consumers dispose of the power banks according to the local and state ordinances.
What makes lithium-ion batteries dangerous?
