t’s important for consumers to be aware of food recalls. While these recalls are not common, they can result in serious illness if contaminated food is eaten. Recently, several types of frozen of chicken were recalled due to possible salmonella contamination. These products were sold at stores nationwide under various brand names. Some consumers have already become ill after eating these products.

What was recalled?

The products in this recall are made with raw chicken that has been breaded and frozen before sale. These products were available at Aldi, Walmart and several other grocery stores. The information on the recall specifics can be found on the USDA website. Consumers should check to see if they have any products that may fall under this product recall and should not consume these products.

Salmonella can cause severe gastrointestinal issues. Already, 28 people have become ill after eating the recalled chicken products. As many as 11 victims had to be hospitalized.  Consumers who ate these products and experienced symptoms related to salmonella poisoning, which may include abdominal cramps and fever, are advised to seek medical treatment.
